"ON Rail" loco pushing a line of cars.

On work service, ONRail GP38-2 1801 (GMD, Nov. 1974) pushes a line of DIFCO dump cars full of shredded ties back to North Bay.

This was taken near the site of the former Widdifield station. There are no traces of the station left but the road still bears the name.

DIFCO dump cars are the railroad equivalent of dump trucks. Their large pneumatic cylinders, barely visible in this photo, are used to tilt the bed and dump the load off to the side. These cars have two air lines - one for regular train line brakes, one for the dumping cylinders.
